28 November-4 December 2016

Pres Graham in their hallway where we set up the buffet table for the Thanksgiving dinner for senior couples we had on Monday.

A picture of the living room where we all ate - there
were over 62 of us there.  The food was great with
local turkey and I felt like I had finally had a
Thanksgiving.  We always have a
good time together.

We spent the night at the Munros
apartment so we didn't have to drive home after
the Thanksgiving dinner and then return
early the next morning for a temple day.
Here we are at breakfast.  She made us
a yummy musli.

The Munros are the office couple who serve in
the Accra West Mission.  They're from
Australia and are very nice!  They live in a
very nice, big house that has the mission
office downstairs.

This is quickly becoming one of our
favorite restaurants!  I hated KFC at
home, but it's one of the better places
to eat here in Tema near the MTC.
However, Paula said, "Take a picture
of me here because I'll never go to
KFC again."

Three brothers from Tonga - the one in the middle
is in the MTC now and his two brothers are
currently serving in the Accra Mission.  He will serve
in the Cape Coast Mission. They got permission to
all go to a session together in the temple and visited a bit, too.

The sister next to me was sealed to her parents and we were proxy for them.  She was very emotional and it was a very touching experience.

These two elders were also sealed to their parents
and we got to be proxies.  The shorter one is from
Ethiopia and the other from Sierra Leone.

Another sister who was sealed to her parents.

And our fourth missionary to be sealed to his parents this week.

We love the handshakes with the white and
black hands together.

We attended the sealing of one of our
teachers (the bride).  We loved her
wedding dress with the Kente strips
and the way he had the same on his tux.
The groom and his father - in some
traditional robes.  He wore these
to the sealing and he is a temple
worker with us on Wednesdays.

They've put up this large nativity at the
temple that is really pretty.

This sister in the middle is from Sierra Leone and
is just a ray of sunshine.

This elder is from Uganda and came in with a false tooth in the top front that wasn't made properly and so it kept falling out.  We got him to a dentist and they made him a new one that fits very well.  He was so happy and kept thanking us over and over.  Look at his smile!

One of our favorite craft markets that is held
in Accra once a month, so we always try to go.

It's quite a nice one and we always run into
lots of other senior couples there.

Look at all the colors!  It's going to seem strange
to come home without the vibrant colors and color
combinations.  They seem so normal now.

And the beads . . .  These are new beads.

And these are old beads.  There are a lot of cool designs
that don't seem to be made much anymore.

Our last activity this week was a visit to a sister
who was at the MTC.  She was badly injured as a child
and was crippled in the healing afterward. She was
unable to walk well because of her injury and the Church
sponsored the surgery to correct her leg.  She lives in
Tema, so she is recovering at home.
